Cooling Centers established in Monterey County to help people beat the heat

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- People living in Monterey County looking for a place to cool off from the heat have multiple cooling centers offered for Thursday.

These cooling centers are operated by the County of Monterey

The list of cooling centers available is below:

Thursday Oct. 19, 2023

  • San Ardo Branch Library, 62350 College St, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Info: 831-386-6858
  • San Lucas Branch Library, 54692 Teresa St, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Info: 831-386-6833
  • King City Branch Library, 402 Broadway St, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m, Info: 831-386-6885
  • Carmel Valley Branch Library, 65. W. Carmel Valley Road, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Info: 831-647-7760.

The county says times and dates may change for the available cooling centers. Be sure to call before visiting one to avoid any inconveniences.
