KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Israel’s foreign minister says his government and Ukraine have agreed to step up cooperation in a joint struggle against Iran. Foreign Minister Eli Cohen gave few details about the cooperation, saying only it would take place in the “international arena.” He spoke after a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky. It was the first visit by a senior Israeli official to Ukraine’s capital since Russia’s invasion last year. Cohen expressed solidarity with Ukraine. But he gave no indication that Israel had agreed to meet Ukraine’s longstanding request for Israeli weapons. Israel has walked a delicate tightrope between assisting Ukraine and avoiding friction with Russia.
