Monterey County Animal Services thanks community for donated kitten supplies

UPDATE 9/6/2019 2:45 p.m. Monterey County Animal Services is thanking the community after receiving donated kitten supplies.

Earlier in the week, the shelter said it was seeing an influx of underage kittens and asked for support from the community. On Friday, the shelter said it had received kitten replacement milk, newborn nursing kits, wet and dry food, litter and some treats for the dogs.

“We are so fortunate to have friends with such big hearts who support our efforts to care for the animals here at Monterey County Animal Services,” the shelter wrote in a social media post.

PREVIOUS STORY: Monterey County Animal Services said it is seeing an influx of underage kittens, and as a result, it is asking for support.

The shelter said it is a second wave of kittens coming in. It said it needs kitten replacement milk, or KMR, and bottles.
