City of Seaside holding Neighborhood Watch information session

The city of Seaside is inviting residents interested in being a part of a Neighborhood Watch program to an informational session.

The meeting will be held at the Oldemeyer Community Center on Hilby Avenue on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The city said the Neighborhood Watch program will be made up of people living in the same area who work together and law enforcement officers, who will work to make the neighborhood safer. It said such programs empower citizens and communities to be active in emergency preparedness while also fighting crime and community disasters.

The program in Seaside will be facilitated by the Seaside Neighborhood Improvement Commission, which is made up of volunteers who are charged with improving the appearance and livability of the city.
