Watsonville man dies in Larkin Valley Road crash after striking utility pole
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of a driver late Tuesday night.
In its preliminary report, the CHP says a 71-year-old man was driving a truck on Larkin Valley Road, just West of White Road when the crash happened.
The CHP says for an unknown reason the Mazda crossed over the solid white line of the eastbound road edge and left the roadway where the front of the Mazda struck a utility pole.
In its report, the CHP does not indicate if the driver died at the scene or while receiving treatment at a hospital.
The incident remains under investigation.
