MILWAUKEE (AP) — David Stearns is stepping down as the Milwaukee Brewers’ president of baseball operations. Matt Arnold will take over the lead role in running the team. The Brewers say Stearns will still serve as an adviser to owner Mark Attanasio. The club announced the transition Thursday. Arnold has been the Brewers’ senior vice president and general manager since 2020. Stearns led the Brewers’ baseball operations during a run of sustained success. Their franchise-record string of four straight playoff appearances ended this season.
