City of Santa Cruz: Unauthorized flyer spreading misleading information

The city of Santa Cruz is warning residents that a flyer posted downtown and circulated on social media is unauthorized and includes false information.

The flyer is titled “Santa Cruz prepares for the global economic crash” and features the city’s logo. It advertises a meeting at the city council chambers to hear how the city plans to allow homeowners to stay in their homes after a foreclosure, cut departments as a result of reduced tax revenue, use empty retail space and provide services and sanitary camping areas for more homeless residents.

The city said the information on the flyer is false and misleading. For accurate information about council meetings, the city said to go to its website at www.cityofsantacruz.com.
