80-year-old driver loses control of truck, pushes parked car into urgent care building

The area around Airport and Freedom Boulevard in Watsonville was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a crash.

An 80-year-old man lost control of his truck and hit a parked car at an urgent care building. The impact of the crash pushed the car 75 feet across the parking lot and into the urgent care building.

Nobody was injured in the crash and the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Officers are still trying to find out what caused him to lose control.

Watsonville Fire estimates that the crash amounted to about $20,000 in structural damage. Code enforcement was called to evaluate the building.

The area was shut down at around 2:30 p.m., but has since reopened.
