Two officers shot in Nicetown-Tioga section of Philadelphia

KION’s sister station in Philadelphia reports that two police officers were shot in the city’s Nicetown-Tioga section.

It happened on North 15th Avenue down the street from Temple University Hospital.

The officers were taken to that hospital, and their condition is unknown. CBS Philly’s helicopter was over the scene, and police could be seen taking a man into custody. It is not clear what his role in the incident is.

There is a large police presence, and several roads are blocked around the scene.
