Assemblymember Mark Stone to host scam prevention seminar for seniors

Assemblymember Mark Stone announced that he will be hosting a free Senior Scam Stopper seminar.

The seminar will be held at the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside from noon to 2 p.m. on August 23.

Stone and the Contractors State License Board hope to teach seniors how to protect themselves. Experts with the Contractors State License Board, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, the Monterey County Adult Protective Services, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the California Department of Insurance will be sharing information about potential scams and how seniors can avoid becoming victims.

Those who attend the event will be able to ask questions and get assistance if they believe they have been scammed.
