Body found during search for missing man near Bonny Doon identified

UPDATE 7/31/2019 10:45 a.m. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office identified the body found during a search for a missing man as Haesl Green.

Green was last seen hiking in the 1000 block of Bonny Doon Road Thursday, and his body was found within the search area on Sunday. The Sheriff’s Office said his cause of death is under investigation, but there is no sign of foul play.

UPDATE 7/29/2019: The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office says search and rescue teams have discovered the body of a deceased male. The man’s identity was not immediately released, pending notification of family.

On Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office began a search for Haesl Green, who had gone missing while reportedly mining minerals with another man.

No further information was immediately available.
