Firefighter with Monterey Fire Department dies in accident at home

The Monterey Fire Department announced one of its firefighters died in an accident Tuesday at his home.

Firefighter Chris Fiske joined the Monterey Fire Department in January 2007, and in the years since then he has worked as a firefighter and an appointed fire engineer.

Fiske is survived by a wife and three young children. The fire department says details about services will be released soon.

Monterey Firefighters Association Local 3707 set up a college fund for Fiske’s children. Association officials say those who want to donate can send a check payable to “MFFA” with “Fiske” on the memo line to:
