Chaos erupts after two teens are shot inside San Bruno Mall

San Bruno Police are on the hunt for what they believe to be two suspects in a shooting that sent two teens to the hospital.

One teen is listed in critical condition, the other is in “serious but stable” condition, according to crews at the scene on Tuesday.

Police say the shooting happened on the second floor of the Tanforan Mall just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots before a large crowd began running for the exits.

“It was like a marathon,” says mall go-er George Castro. “People yelling ‘get out of the mall! there’s a shooter, there’s a shooter!'”

Multiple Bart stations were shut down during the investigation while the mall was evacuated and its parking garage was also closed off.

As of early Wednesday morning, Police were unable to locate the suspects involved in the shooting.

Two other people were injured during the incident, however they were treated and released. The extent of their injuries unknown.

San Bruno Police say they will go through surveillance video to see if they can locate the suspects as the shooting unfolded.

San Bruno police are asking people to stay away from the area around Tanforan mall while they investigate reports of a shooting.

KPIX in San Francisco reports that the San Bruno BART station has closed, and trains are not stopping at that station.
