Triple shooting under investigation in Watsonville
UPDATE 7/2/2019 1:00 p.m. Watsonville police have released the identity of a man arrested in connection with a triple shooting on Rodriguez Street.
He is identified as 22-year-old Manuel Adrian Perez.
The incident happened Monday night. Police say the three people shot are in stable condition and that the shooting happened after a dispute between neighbors.
UPDATE (12:25 a.m.):
Detectives were still investigating the home Monday night to try to piece together what happened after a triple shooting on Rodriguez Street.
Watsonville Police PIO Michelle Pulido said the three people that were shot are in stable condition and expected to be okay. She said the shooting happened after a dispute between neighbors but police are still trying to figure out what the dispute was over.
There were blood spots on the sidewalk near the home, but it’s unclear how they are connected to this incident.
Neighbors are shocked to hear of an incident like this happening on their street.
“It’s actually pretty surprising because a lot of families live around here and play and everything so it’s pretty shocking,” neighbor Ismael Rodriguez said.
The investigation is still in its initial stages and is ongoing.
UPDATE (9:50 p.m.):
Watsonville Police say three people were shot after a “dispute between neighbors,” Monday night.
In a press conference, WPD said the victims are a man in his 40s and a teenage girl. The male suspect has not been identified. All three were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition. The suspect will be arrested after he is released.
The incident happened on the 2nd story of a home on the 600 block of Rodriguez Street.
