Four people slain and suspect found dead by own hand at San Jose home
San Jose police say a standoff at a home between police and an armed suspect ended with five people dead, including the suspect who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators said they believe this case is a quadruple murder-suicide.
Officers responded to a house on the 500 block of Habbitts Court Sunday night after multiple reports of a shooting. When they got there, two adults came out ot the house, each with at least one gunshot wound. Both were taken to a hospital, and one of them died, police said.
Neighbors were evacuated, and SWAT officers surrounded the home while negotiators tried to contact the suspect.
Early Monday, officers used flash grenades to get into the home, but found the suspect dead.
