Escaped inmate caught in Salinas
Salinas police arrested two men, one of them an escaped inmate, after a traffic stop Sunday.
Members of the city’s Violence Suppression Task Force were on patrol when they saw Irvin Enciso, who had escaped from the Sugar Pine Conservation Camp earlier in the day.
Police say when they conducted a traffic stop, Enciso ran off, but was taken into custody a short distance away.
A scond man, Gonzalo Echevarria, was also in the vehicle. Officers determined he had a felony warrant. Echeverria was booked into county jail. Enciso was turned over to the California Department of Corrections.
