Suspect in custody after report of student with gun at Santa Rosa school
Police have a suspect in custody after a report of a student with a gun at Santa Rosa High School, according to our San Francisco sister station.
Police put out a statement just before 11 Friday morning to let parents know that they were investigating an incident at Santa Rosa High School. The incident prompted a lockdown and a shelter in place order.
At around noon, police issued an update saying that more than 20 officers were on the school’s campus conducting a search after a report of a student on campus with a handgun. They said there were no threats of violence and no injuries.
Just after 1 p.m., Santa Rosa Police said a suspect was in custody, and at 1:20 p.m. the lockdown was lifted.
Santa Rosa Junior College was also on lockdown during the incident.
Santa Rosa High School’s graduation ceremony was scheduled for Friday evening.
