Three men arrested after breaking into a Hollister bar and threatening patrons
Police in Hollister arrested three men after they broke into a bar and threatened those inside.
It happened around 1:35 Friday morning at Agua Azul Bar on East Street. Police responded to reports that three men armed with a knife were making threats. Three men tried to run when they got there, but they were caught. 25-year-old Alfredo Cervantes, 28-year-old Urbano Sernas Jr., and 24-year-old Pedro Lira-Padilla were arrested.
During the investigation, officers found out that one of them got into a fight with another person at the bar and allegedly assaulted him. The three were kicked out by others in the bar, and the owner locked the doors.
After they did that, police say Cervantes kicked down a door and went back in with a knife. They say he then assaulted the original victim and threatened others with the knife. Sernas and Lira-Padilla fought with others in the bar while that was happening.
Cervantes is charged with burglary, battery, brandishing a knife, possession of brass knuckles and threatening a police officer. Lira-Padilla is charged with burglary and battery. Sernas is charged with battery and had a warrant.
