Three arrests made after pregnant woman killed and baby cut from her womb
A 19-year-old pregnant woman is dead and a baby is in critical condition after she was killed and her unborn child was cut from her womb.
Marlen Ochoa went missing April 23 after being lured to a Chicago home to buy items for her baby, and Wednesday morning her body was found in a garbage can.
Police say three people have been arrested in connection to her death and a fourth is considered a person of interest.
Sources say when Ochoa arrived at the home, she was led to the basement where she was strangled and her baby was cut out of her womb.
A spokesperson for Ochoa’s family says the same day she went to the house, someone called 911 to report that a 46-year-old woman had given birth. A neighbor says the woman living there ran out holding a newborn. She was wearing a bloody shirt, but had no blood on her shorts.
The baby was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and the family says police told them DNA tests confirmed that the baby was Ochoa’s.
The family has named the baby Yavani Yadiel Lopez
