Monterey County healthcare providers working to prevent overdoses with Narcan training and kits

Community Human Services and Montage Health are teaming up to give training and Narcan kits in an effort to prevent opioid overdoses.

They’re offering two days of free training and kits, one in Salinas and the other in Seaside.

Monterey County residents can learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, but they will also learn how to administer Narcan.

The first training day is on Tuesday, April 30 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Salinas. That’ll be held at the Salinas Sports Complex on Main Street.

The second training is on Wednesday, May 1 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Seaside. It will be at the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside.
