WATCH: Pod of killer whales hunt sea lion in Monterey Bay

A pod of killer whales were caught on camera hunting a California sea lion in the Monterey Bay.

Folks on board a Princess Monterey Whale Watching tour got to watch the orcas leap and dive after their prey for nearly 20 minutes Sunday.

“It appeared that these orcas were more interested in teaching the juvenile to hunt, than they were in eating, as the sea lion was still alive when it was time for us to head back to the dock,” Princess Monterey Whale Watching said in a written statement.
