Marina seeing an increase in the number of stolen vehicles

Marina Police say there’s been an increase in the number of vehicles stolen in the city. Police say seven vehicles have been reported stolen since March 3, and the majority are similar makes and models.

The majority of the stolen cars are Honda Civics from the late 90’s or early 2000’s, and the thefts have mainly happened at night. Three cars were found near the area where they were stolen, but they had been rummaged through and damaged.

The thefts have happened in these areas:

3/3/19 200 block of Palm Avenue 3/16/19 3100 block of Crescent Avenue 3/18/19 200 block of Cypress Avenue 3/20/19 and 3/3/19 200 block of Carmel Avenue 3/21/19 200 block of Bennett Court 3/21/19 3050 block of Zanetta Drive

Police say that the best way to prevent this from happening to your car is to make sure it’s locked and not to leave anything valuable in the car. If you see anything suspicious or have any information about thefts, you’re asked to call Marina Police at 831-384-7575.
