Seaside church mourns pastor’s passing

Seaside has lost a longtime religous leader.

The Rev. Dr. Herbert Hoover Lusk Sr. passed away March 15th at the age of 89.

He had served as pastor at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for 58 years.

Lusk was remembered Thursday night by the Seaside City Council, which gave his son, Harold Jr., the key to the city.

There are several events scheduled to remember Rev. Lusk.

There will be a pastoral celebration Friday night (7 pm), a celebration of life on Saturday (11 am) and a musical tribute on Sunday (4 pm). All events will be held at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 390 Elm Avenue in Seaside.
