Storage unit building catches fire in Salinas
A storage unit building caught fire in Salinas early Friday morning.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at Bridge and Lake around 8:30 a.m.
A Salinas Fire Chief told KION the fire started inside the building.
It’s unclear if people were inside the structure at the time the fire ignited.
The fire was under control within 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The fire chief told KION the fire was started by homeless people trying to get warm.
