25th Annual Peace and Unity March in Watsonville

Dozens came together in Watsonville, Sunday morning, for the 25th Annual Peace and Unity March.

Mothers, fathers, siblings, and friends carried photos of loved ones who have lost their lives to gang violence. Many wore yellow ribbons and flowers pinned to their shirts, in remembrance those who have passed.

Monterey County Supervisor, and past Watsonville Mayor, Luis Alejo, led the crowd through the streets. The group marched from Watsonville City Plaza to Parajo. At the end of the march, a new memorial bench was unveiled. The bench honors Jessica and Jorge Cortez, who lost their lives to gang violence 25 years ago.
