Law Enforcement hiring expo in Santa Cruz on Saturday

More than a dozen law enforcement agencies from around Santa Cruz County are partnering up for a job expo this weekend.

There will be representatives from 15 law enforcement agencies and security businesses there to answer questions and give demonstrations to anyone looking into the field.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Dee Baldwin says this is the perfect place to get any information surrounding a career in law enforcement. “It’s kind of a one stop shop for a future in law enforcement.”

Sgt. Baldwin adds they have about 10 vacant positions for deputies and 10 for correctional officers. He says the high cost of living in the County is one of the reasons they have those open positions.

The agencies decided to work together to bring any new officers to the county, they say getting officers at any department makes it better for everyone, “if we can fill vacancies at any agency it allows us to work better together.”

The expo starts at noon and ends around 5 p.m. This is free and you do not need to bring anything except your I.D.
