Hero mystery man clears downed trees from County roads and highways
Don’t be alarmed when you see this mystery man coming with an axe or saw, he’s here to help.
Benjamin Vance is a radio operator for HAM and will often hear of traffic incidents including downed trees; now he’s putting that to use.
When Vance hears about those incidents he suits up and heads to the scene with a chainsaw in hand and will often get there before caltrans.
He’s cleared more than 40 trees in the past few years from major Highways and roads in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
There is now a go fund me page set up by one of his friends to help pay expenses for new equipment so he can keep up the good work.
