New RV park to be placed on haunted land says Soledad officials

Most people don’t seek a life on haunted land, but if you do, Soledad might be the place to look.

City officials plan to open a new RV park near Los Coches Adobes. The land at one time was a stop for stage coaches in the mid-to-late 1800s, and now has an abandoned building that is said to be haunted.

Long time resident of the area, Anita Esteban says, “It’s haunted, and people see stuff in the middle of the night.”

Los Coches Adobes has received so much paranormal interest, even Travel Channel’s hit series “Ghost Adventures” shot an episode in the famed stagecoach stop and apparently found a lot of ghostly activity.

The building is said to be inhabited by spirits that stay with you and bring misfortune… a remarkable turn for it’s utilitarian past.

Back in the 1800’s this was a place for stagecoaches to come and rest. Now, it’s just an abandoned building.

Fast forward to 2019, the City of Soledad doesn’t want it to be abandoned anymore. They eventually want to re-open the building, and use the land as an RV park. This way, people can experience the haunted house first hand.

Brent Slama (Community and Economic Development Director, Soleda) says, “There are a lot of people who are looking for an authentic experience and maybe [should] take a day off the beaten path. So, while everybody is at the golf courses, or at the aquarium, or at the beaches… you know everyone knows how famous those are. They think, I could take a trip down to soledad.”

This project is still in the works and there is no set date on completion.
