Two arrested for Salinas stabbing Saturday night
A 22-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed multiple times Saturday night.
It happened on the 1000 block of John Street at about 10 minutes before 8:00.
Salinas Police say the man was leaving his apartment and was grabbed from behind in an alley.
Two others took him to the ground and started beating him. At one point he was stabbed three times in the hand and once in the torso.
The suspects took some items he was carrying before they ran away. Police think the suspects thought the victim was someone who had jumped them earlier and realized it wasn’t him.
Witnesses were able to describe the suspects, and one was found riding a bike later. Two of the three are in custody now, and the two are 17 and 16-years-old.
The three suspects are facing attempted murder, robbery and conspiracy charges.
At last check the victim is in stable condition and up and talking, but the stab wound in his torso was serious.
