Monterey County supervisor files complaint against KSBW
Monterey County Supervisor Luis Alejo filed a complaint against KSBW over a recent editorial. Alejo filed it with KSBW’s parent company, the Hearst Corporation.
Alejo says the editorial last weekend made false and misleading statements about him. It happened after Alejo responded on Twitter to an earlier editorial about sanctuary state laws, in reference to the death of Newman police Officer Ronil Singh. He says this is just one of several times KSBW has done an editorial like it.
“What I’m asking the president-CEO is to at least look over what happened in this case, allow me equal air time to provide a rebuttal to what Mr. Heston said last weekend, and lastly create some fair and non-biased standards for future on KSBW,” said Alejo.
Alejo says KSBW has already denied his request for air time, so he is looking at other options, like an editorial for another news source or social media.
