Beloved Prunedale horse, Rocky, rescued after being stuck in a hole for two weeks
PRUNEDALE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Beloved Prunedale family horse, Rocky, is recovering after being rescued from a hole he was stuck in for two weeks.
Jennifer Moore-Gardoni made the announcement over social media on Friday.
Moore-Gardoni said a PG&E staff member was examining power lines and notified Moore-Gardoni about a horse being stuck in a hole.
"I couldn't get there fast enough!" said Moore-Gardoni. As it turns out, Rocky had been in a mud hole for two weeks and only survived because the hole had enough water for him to drink out of.
Fire crews and the SPCA joined to rescue Rocky from the hole and is now up and back with Moore-Gardoni and her family.
"Now for the next 48 hours I will be watching him like a hawk and slowly introducing food," said Moore-Gardoni. "Right now is all about hydration and small amounts of food. God is good!!"
