Deputies investigate armed robbery at Aptos liquor store

An armed suspect is on the loose after robbing a store clerk at gunpoint in Aptos.

The suspect walked into Aptos Village Liquors with a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 6:50 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, about 5’10 to 6 feet tall wearing a light colored camouflaged jacket.

“The Sheriff’s Office is aware that additional robberies occurred in the city of Watsonville and city of Capitola. Our Detectives are working in partnership with the neighboring agencies as we investigate,” said Sgt. Dee Baldwin.
