Salinas softball coach accused of inappropriately touching teenage girl

A 20-year-old softball coach is in jail accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old on her team.

Salinas Police said on December 10th, officers got a call from the 13-year-old’s mother about inappropriate text messages she found on her daughter’s electronic devices.

Police said the messages were between the 13-year-old and 20-year-old Madison Nott-Perez.

Nott-Perez is a coach for the Aldrete Softball Academy12u club team.

After the season was over, police said the victim’s parents found inappropriate conversations on the devices and called police.

Detectives later discovered Nott-Perez inappropriately touched the victim during the 2018 Fall softball season.

The inappropriate touching would happen when Nott-Perez would meet with the victim after practice or after team building events.

According to police, when the victim’s phone was taken away, Nott-Perez gave her another so she could contact the 13-year-old without her parents knowing.

Nott-Perez later went to the police station and was arrested. She was booked into the Monterey County Jail on several counts of Lewd Acts with a Child, Contact or Communication with a Minor to Commit an Offense and Kidnapping (transporting victim under 14 years of age for the purpose of committing a crime).

Nott-Perez has coached for the Aldrete Softball Academy and possibly other organizations.
