Storm knocks out power to hundreds on Central Coast

The storm that arrived early Thursday morning produced periods of heavy rain and strong winds.

By 7 a.m., PG&E reported hundreds of power outages due to the storm. The outages affected 219 customers in Prunedale, 163 near Corralitos, 121 in Felton, and 41 in Castroville.

There were also smaller, scattered outages on the Monterey Peninsula.

PG&E crews are responding to the trouble spots.

There was no estimate as to when power will be restored, and the number of customers affected will likely change throughout the day.
