BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) — Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh has followed her success at the World Aquatic Championships with a stunning swim at the Commonwealth Games. The 15-year-old McIntosh easily beat her opposition in the 400-meter individual medley. McIntosh established a personal best of 4:29.01 in her dominant win. Alex Yee earlier won the first gold medal in Birmingham and Hayden Wilde provided the first bit of sportsmanship. Yee and Wilde were almost level during the concluding 5-kilometer run in the men’s triathlon when the latter learned he had been handed a 10-second penalty. Wilde slowed rather than challenging for the finish line so Yee could cross first and celebrate his victory. But Wilde will appeal and Yee is sympathetic.
