Highway 17 reopens after truck crash
All southbound lanes of Highway 17 were reopened to traffic this morning, after crews spent the night removing wreckage of a truck and trailer that struck the Blossom Hill Road overpass near Los Gatos.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday and closed the highway for nearly 12 hours.
The CHP says the truck was pulling a trailer with a crane that was too tall to get under the bridge. The truck ended up on its side and debris was strewn across the roadway. The bridge appeared to suffer damage, as well, as rebar was seen poking out of the concrete.
There was no immediate word on any injuries.
The highway was opened just before 5 a.m. Friday.
An investigation is underway.
