Public’s help sought in identifying person of interest in Watsonville shooting

Santa Cruz County officials are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest in a drive-by shooting.

It happened on June 30, in an unincorporated area of Watsonville, near an area known as the Mesa Village neighborhood.

Nobody was hit by the gunfire, but officials believe two teens were specifically targeted. An inhabited home was struck several times by the bullets. Officials told KION the residents in the home as well as in the front yard of the house were very fortunate that they were not struck.

The person shown in the video is a person of interest and is wanted for questioning regarding the shooting.

If you have any information regarding this incident or this person please contact Inspector Morgan Chappell of the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office. You may remain anonymous.
