Quik Stop clerk, customer pistol-whipped in Salinas armed robbery

Five suspects were arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery at a Quik Stop in Salinas.

The robbery happened on E. Laurel Dr.

According to Salinas police, a clerk and a customer were pistol-whipped in the face even after complying with the suspect’s requests.

Officers spotted a car with two women leaving the scene. The women stopped at an intersection to talk to a man. All three suspects were detained.

“Near the driver’s door, officers located a gold chain which had been forcibly taken from one of the victims,” said SPD.

Officers continued to search the area and located two men parked in a black SUV matching the description of the armed robbery suspects. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a loaded Springfield 9mm under the passenger seat and several packs of cigarettes taken during the robbery.

A second loaded gun was found in the parking lot where the suspects were.

All five suspects were booked into Monterey County Jail.
