West Nile virus detected in San Martin

Officials have detected West Nile virus in adult mosquitoes collected in parts of Santa Clara County, including San Martin.

Weather permitting, the county will conduct targeted truck-based treatment operations on Thursday, Oct. 4 in an area centered at Highland Avenue and Santa Teresa Blvd.

The operation will begin at 11 p.m. and is expected to last for three hours.

Treatment areas include the 95020, 95037, and 95046 zip codes.

The county’s Vector Control District has created a dedicated phone line (800) 314-2747 to answer questions. The phone line will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Questions can also be submitted online at: vectorinfo@cep.sccgov.org.
