Salinas man stops burglar in act

A Salinas man took matters into his own hands when he saw a burglar stealing from his neighbors house.

According to Salinas police, the residential burglary took place in the 200 block of E. San Luis Street around 9 p.m. Monday.

SPD said a resident heard a loud noise coming from his neighbor’s house and thought it was suspicious because his neighbor wasn’t home.

The resident went to investigate and saw a minor climbing out of his neighbors window with stolen property. The neighbor detained one of the burglars until police arrived.

“Two other juveniles ran from the scene prior to police arrival but were later contacted and also arrested for participating in the burglary,” said SPD.

All three minors were booked into Juvenile Hall.
