Town Halls being held to address lead in military housing in Monterey County

The Presidio of Monterey will be hosting Town Hall events to address issues related to lead in military housing.

Officials say out of an abundance of caution, the Army is taking immediate action to address issues and concerns related to the possible presence of lead in buildings constructed prior to 1978, especially in military and privatized housing in Monterey County.

Officials will be holding two Town Hall events in September to address the issue of lead hazards and current actions being taken on the Presidio:

Sept. 12, @6:30pm General Stilwell Community Center, OMC. 4260 Gigling Rd., Seaside, CA 93955.

Sept. 13 @6:30pm La Mesa Village Community Center, 1200 Fechteler Dr., Monterey, CA 93940.
