Man arrested after returning to site of King City armed robbery

King City Police with help from the Greenfield Police Department arrested a suspected armed robber after that man was spotted near the scene of the alleged crime.

The robbery happened Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. on the 800 block of Broadway street.

When police were called to the scene it was determined that the suspect, who they identified as Jose Raul Aceves, took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register at knife point. Aceves then took off from the scene on a bicycle. Police say Aceves is a know southern gang member.

While officers and investigators were at the scene, Aceves rode by on his bicycle and was then confronted by officers. Aceves was pushed off the bicycle and ran westbound on Broadway as he pulled out money from his pocket and threw it in the air, which officers were able to recover.

After a short struggle, Aceves was arrested. Methamphetamine and a syringe were found on him during the booking process.

He’s charged with armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Anyone with any information on the case is asked to call Detective Joshue Partida of the King City and Greenfield Police Department’s Major Crimes Investigations Unit at (831) 386-5991.
