Colorado Springs KRDO news crew almost run over at crime scene

KRDO Newschannel 13 reporter Krystal Story and photographer Pete Miller were covering a shooting near Memorial Park Tuesday morning when a driver plowed through the crime scene hitting a police car and then grazing Miller with the car’s side mirror.

Story was in the middle of a live shot for Good Morning Colorado when the incident happened. Both Story and Miller are okay.

After talking to the driver, the Colorado Springs Police Department told KRDO the incident was not intentional and that the driver was trying to get around the cars in the area.

The driver was arrested on the scene and taken to the hospital. His identity has not been released.

Right now the driver is facing the following charges:

Careless driving Driving through a barricade Driving without a license

He was also arrested on a traffic warrant.
