Hollister prowlers arrested, stolen items, weapons, & drugs seized

Two men were arrested for burglarizing cars in a Hollister neighborhood.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on August 26.

Hollister police officers were dispatched to the area of Calais Circle and Versailles Drive.

When officers arrived they said the two suspect, 18-year-old Juan Luis Estrada and 19-year-old Angel Francisco Tejeda got rid of items as the officers got closer.

“The suspects smelled of burnt marijuana and spoke with slow and slurred speech. A search of the men revealed a large concealed knife and a BB gun that looked just like a real handgun,” said Sgt. Don Pershall.

HPD said the suspects also had prescription pills, marijuana hash oil, ammunition, and several other knives. Stolen property was also recovered.

A witness positively identified the two suspects as the men seen looking into parked vehicles.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into San Benito County Jail.

Juan Luis Estrada (pictured with teal jersey), was booked for conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, prowling and carrying a concealed dagger. Angel Francisco Tejeda (pictured with black shirt), was booked for conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance.
