Salinas hit-and-run leaves victim in critical condition
UPDATE (12:03 a.m.):
Gilroy Police arrested a man suspected in a Salinas hit-and-run, Saturday night.
Salinas Police tell KION the suspect was arrested at approximately 11:30 p.m. and is being transported back to Salinas. They say he is a transient who is regularly in Salinas. He is facing a felony hit-and-run charge.
As of 12:00 a.m. Sunday, the victim is still in critical condition. Police say the male victim is a Salinas resident.
The suspect was allegedly driving west on Laurel Drive when he hit the victim, who was walking in the crosswalk, at 8:42 p.m.

A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Salinas, Saturday night.
Salinas Police say the victim was in the crosswalk, by W Laurel Dr. and Tyler St., when he was struck by a black SUV driving West on Laurel, at about 8:42 p.m. SPD is speaking with witnesses, and say the vehicle kept driving West on Laurel Drive.
The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Salinas Police tell KION the driver of the SUV would be facing a felony hit-and-run charge.
