High levels of bacteria found at three Monterey County beaches

High levels of bacteria was found in the water at three Monterey County beaches.

The Monterey County Health Department posted beach advisories at Monterey Municipal Beach, Asilomar State Beach, and Carmel Beach at Ocean Avenue.

The beaches were posted after water samples taken on August 13 found a high indicator of bacteria.

Health officials said the beaches will remain posted until bacteria levels are safe for the public to get in the water.
