Greenfield attempted murder suspect arrested in NorCal for 2017 stabbing
UPDATE: 8/14/2018 12:31 p.m. A man wanted for stabbing a Greenfield woman more than 20 times back in 2017 was arrested in Northern California.
Following a 20-month long investigation, on August 10, 2018, Greenfield police officers traveled to Yuba City and arrested 30-year-old Agustin Cabrera Serrano for attempted murder.
According to police, Serrano stabbed a woman in the 400 block of 10th Street of Greenfield on January 20, 2017. Officers arrived and found a 50-year-old woman with 22 stab wounds including a cut to the throat.
The woman was taken to Natividad in critical condition. She underwent surgery and survived the attack.
Detectives identified Serrano as the suspect who left the scene in a gold 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep was recovered by the Yuba City Police Department on January 22, 2017.
Serrano was charged with attempted homicide, corporal injury to a cohabitant, and criminal threats. He was booked into the Sutter County Jail where he is pending extradition to Monterey County. He is being held on a $1,250,000 bond.

A woman is in critical conditions after being stabbed in Greenfield this morning; police are currently looking for the suspect.
Police said they responded to a call of a stabbing on Friday at about 8:40 a.m. in the 400 block of 10 th Street in Greenfield.
Officers said the victim who was stabbed was a female who is approximately 50 years old, her identity was not released.
The victim was taken to Natividad Hospital in Salinas in critical condition.
Greenfield Police Department is currently conducting an attempted murder investigation.
The suspect is described as 28-year-old Agustin Cabrera Serrano who is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds and is bald.
