Burglary suspect arrested in Salinas

Salinas Police arrested the suspect in an April burglary, Saturday evening. Chris Verduzco, 31, was wanted for a burglary at a storage facility.

Members of the Department’s Violence Suppression Unit saw Verduzco in the area of Rico Street and Rossi Street, and conducted a traffic stop at Rossi and Powell Street, at 5:49 p.m.

SPD says he is a known gang member, and had a loaded handgun on the seat next to him. A search of his vehicle also found a shotgun, a “realistic” airsoft handgun, stun gun, ammunition, and a gram of methamphetamine.

Verduzco was booked into the Monterey County Jail on drug and firearms charges. SPD tells KION witnesses and surveillance video led him to be a suspect for the April burglary.
