Seven arrests after criminal investigation leads to drugs, cash, guns and high-end merchandise

Seven people are behind bars after a large bust in Monterey County.

According to the Salinas Police Department, officers served six search warrants at several different locations in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 9th. The warrants were part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

Police said three of the warrants were in Salinas at 15 Geary Circle, 569 Sunrise Street and 1430 Linwood Drive. The others were at Cordoba and Barcelona Streets in Soledad and Lagomarsino in Greenfield.

Detectives found a half pound of heroin, 1.5 pounds of cocaine, 10 ounces of methamphetamine, several thousand dollars in cash, three handguns, one rifle, one shotgun, body armor, ammunition and high end merchandise which included Gucci products, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Fendi and jewelry.

SVSP, State Parole, California Highway Patrol, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Monterey Peninsula SRU, HSI, ATF and the FBI helped serve the search warrants.

The seven people arrested include 27-year-old Alejandro Cruz, 24-year-old Eric Lopez, 49-year-old Enrique Lopez, 22-year-old Destinee Zavala, 23-year-old Gabriel Vasquez, 25-year-old Arturo Carreon and 55-year-old Frank Guzman.

They’re each facing several different charges.
