Santa Cruz County man arrested for attempting to have sex with a child

A Santa Cruz County man is behind bars for allegedly attempting to have sex with a child.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said, 55-year-old Bill Pennino attempted to have inappropriate and unlawful sexual contact with a juvenile under the age of 16.

Sgt. Brian Cleveland told KION Pennino and the victim lived near each other.

After several months of investigating, Pennino was arrested at his home Friday morning. He’s been booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on various charges.
